Which Lip Filler is Right for You?

Posted by

At The Injection Room, we recommend two of our favorite lip filler products for our patients: Restylane Kysse or Revanesse Versa. Our injectors have tried every major lip filler products and these are their top picks.

What is the difference between the two?

Revanesse Versa

Versa is our preferred standard filler priced at $575 per 1mL syringe. This is a thinner, more fluid product. It works perfectly for someone looking for a subtle and hydrating plump. Versa will enhance your natural lip shape without altering it too much. Because it is thinner, it has a slightly ‘easier’ recovery. Every patient will experience swelling as well as possible bruising within the first few days which will completely subside around 2 weeks. Minimal massaging may be needed after the first week if you experience lumps.

Restylane Kysse

Kysse is our preferred premium filler priced at $800 per 1mL syringe. This is a thicker product which is less likely to migrate. Because of this, it allows the injector to better manipulate the shape of the lips. If you are looking for a crisp and defined vermillion border and cupid’s bow, this is a great choice. Kysse also has added benefits for smokers, straw users or people who vape as the product is less likely to migrate due to these activities. Because Kysse is a thicker product, you may experience a more ‘tedious’ recovery. It is normal for your lips to be lumpy and wavy during the healing process. If after a week you have lumps, they will need to be massaged daily until they disperse. Don’t worry, they will go down and leave beautiful results!

Trust the Process

Both products last 8-12 months. If you are looking for a very full lip, you are likely to need multiple syringes broken up into a few appointments. After your initial injection, you can come in 2-4 weeks later for another syringe. These products can be mixed so if you decide to try one, you can try the other at a later time.

Prior to Your Appointment

Arnica, a natural supplement, can be taken daily for a week prior to injecting to reduce the chance of bruising. Avoid alcohol and blood thinners at least 24-48 hours before your appointment as this will cause more bruising.

Antihistamines can be taken daily for a week prior to your appointment to reduce the amount of swelling.

Each of these medications can be continued after your appointment to expedite the healing process.

Every patient is different and will experience varied results and recovery. Consult with your injector if you have further questions.
